1. Introduction
Welcome to another issue of "Weekly AI," the newsletter where we explore how AI will influence our lives, art, culture, and work. I'm Dark3web, your guide on this journey, and I'm excited to share with you the insights and discussions I've curated for issue number 3.
This week, I delved into a number of thought-provoking articles that touched upon some fascinating aspects of AI's impact on our world. In particular, I found myself pondering the future of work in the age of AI. Will it lead to a decrease in human jobs or transform the way we work, allowing us to achieve more in the same amount of time? As we experience an increase in the overall supply of intelligence, economic theories like induced demand and Jevons Paradox suggest that we might see an increase in tasks requiring intelligence, driving us to do more and do it better.
Similarly, I've been reflecting on how AI might affect various professions, such as lawyers, designers, doctors, engineers, and writers. Will AI replace these jobs or simply amplify human capabilities, leading to more demand for these services? These are the questions that have been occupying my mind as we dive deeper into the AI revolution.
In this issue, you'll also find our regular sections like "GM of the Week" and "The Art of Life Through AI's Eyes - Week 15 Summary," offering you a glimpse of the latest AI trends and insights. And don't miss our "Prompt of the Week," a thought exercise designed to spark your imagination and challenge your perspective on AI's potential impact.
I particularly recommend the article titled "Fear vs. Ethics: Where AI Art Critics Go Wrong," which provides a unique take on the role of AI in the world of art and raises important ethical considerations.

2. What caught my attention in the AI: Fear vs. Ethics: Where AI Art Critics Go
As an AI aficionado, I recently came across a stimulating article that inspired me to share my thoughts on the captivating world of AI-generated art. The article, titled "Fear vs. Ethics: Where AI Art Critics Go Wrong," can be found on NFT Now, a platform on a mission to redefine how creators and their communities share in the value they create. With a focus on NFTs and Web3 technology, NFT Now aims to build a prosperous future for creatives across various domains and disciplines. You can read the full article here: https://nftnow.com/features/fear-vs-ethics-where-ai-art-critics-go-wrong/
In the article, the author masterfully challenges the common criticisms against AI-generated art, making the bold assertion that there is no fundamental difference between art created by AI and that produced by humans. This aspect particularly piqued my interest as it foreshadows an unavoidable future where AI technology permeates many aspects of our lives. As an advocate of democratizing access to artistic expression, I firmly believe that AI-powered art tools can play an essential role in fostering greater inclusivity.
The ethical concerns raised by opponents of AI-generated art are also addressed in the article. While these concerns warrant attention, they should not eclipse the potential advantages of embracing AI in the realm of creativity. The author underscores the notion that the future is inevitable and groundbreaking technologies, such as AI art tools, are here to stay.
As an AI enthusiast, I contend that we should maintain an open mind toward these emerging technologies and the opportunities they offer. By embracing AI-generated art, we could usher in a more inclusive and accessible era of artistic expression, breaking down barriers and enabling creators to explore new frontiers. We must find a balance between addressing valid concerns and welcoming the possibilities that AI holds for our future.
Additionally, the article serves as a reminder that, as with any technological innovation, AI will undoubtedly create new industries and job opportunities. We must strive to adapt to the changing landscape and learn new skills to stay ahead of the curve. Embracing change and being adaptable will be key to thriving in a world increasingly shaped by AI.
I wholeheartedly recommend delving into the entire article on NFT Now, as it presents an insightful and persuasive perspective on the ongoing debate surrounding AI-generated art. As we continue to explore the fascinating world of AI and its potential to reshape our lives, let us remain open to the myriad possibilities it offers and the ways in which it may ultimately enhance our collective creative potential.
3. GM of the Week
Last week, something pretty cool happened while I was working on generating my daily GM inspiration, and I just had to share it with you in this newsletter. My initial goal seemed simple enough: whip up a prompt that would create an image of the letters "GM" elegantly resting on the surface of a frothy coffee. Little did I know that this seemingly easy task would turn into something way more interesting.
So, there I was, experimenting and tweaking the prompt, trying to get a Generative AI to create that perfect image. Time flew by, but instead of the precise "GM" foam design I was aiming for, a really captivating composition popped up, catching me off guard.
Even though the result wasn't what I originally had in mind, I couldn't help but fall in love with this new creation. It made me realize that the AI, especially the one that generates images based on text, had its own quirky "ideas." In the end, the charm of the unexpected outcome totally won me over.
Curiosity getting the better of me, I tried using the same prompt a few more times to see if I could get the same results. But surprise, surprise—each attempt turned out slightly different, showing just how unpredictable and creative the AI could be. The more I played around with it, the more I appreciated the surprises and challenges that came with working alongside a Generative AI.
So, I'm sharing this story with you to celebrate the beauty of those happy accidents that can pop up when we let go of our expectations and embrace the unexpected in our creative adventures. Just like I discovered a new appreciation for the unpredictable results of my daily GM experiments, I hope this tale inspires you to welcome the surprises and challenges that life throws your way.
(It looks like Substack has removed the functionality of embedding Twitter posts. The war between these platforms continues!)
4. The Art of Life Through AI's Eyes - Week 15 Summary,
Last week was quite an adventure, and it was especially memorable as I reached the 100th day of my project. Time seemed to fly by, and before I knew it, the week had come to an end. My job kept me extremely busy, so most of the AI-generated summaries I created revolved around work, meetings, and staying focused.
When I wasn't working, I spent a considerable amount of time discovering the new features of Substack. As you can imagine, my week was filled with a mix of emotions from both my work and personal life.
Here's something interesting I want to share: lately, I've been adding a touch of artistic flair to my daily summaries. Depending on how I'm feeling and what's happening, I provide the AI with a hint about the style I want for my visual summary. Sometimes, this small tweak leads to some truly amazing and unexpected results.
I hope you enjoy the images from last week as much as I do. They attracted some attention on Twitter, with thousands of views, numerous likes, and, best of all, people commenting on them. I'm really looking forward to more people joining in and sharing their thoughts as time goes on.
So, that's a wrap for Week 15! I want to thank everyone who engaged with the images and got involved. Let's continue exploring "The Art of Life Through AI's Eyes" together, discussing our ideas, and welcoming more people to the party. The more, the merrier!
5. Prompt of the Week.
In this week's prompt, we delve into the fascinating world of AI-generated content that feels like it was written by a real person. Andrea Naomi's insightful lesson, which can be found at this link, teaches me how to fine-tune AI prompts for more remarkable results. The key elements of an ideal prompt include purpose, tone, writing style, level of language complexity, audience, format, length, and additional instructions. By incorporating these components, anyone can create AI-generated content tailored to their specific needs.
One excellent example of an ideal prompt is: "Write a descriptive text (writing style) of 600 words (length) in a formal tone (tone) for a general audience (audience) at an intermediate level of language complexity (level of language complexity), showcasing the endless possibilities of AI-generated content."
This prompt demonstrates how to specify the tone, writing style, and level of language complexity, allowing AI-generated content to meet expectations. By understanding and using such prompts, anyone can communicate effectively and explore the vast potential of AI-generated content.
It's essential to grasp the various tones, writing styles, and levels of language complexity available to create content that resonates with your target audience. Some examples of tones include formal, informal, sarcastic, humorous, persuasive, and professional, among others. Writing styles can range from narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive to more specialized forms like technical or poetic. Language complexity levels range from simple to technical, catering to different audiences with varying expertise.
By utilizing the ideal prompt structure and carefully selecting the appropriate tone, writing style, and language complexity, AI-generated content can not only meet your expectations but also captivate your audience. For instance, using AI-generated content can help you create engaging articles on various topics, explore new ideas, or even assist in drafting letters and speeches.
Take, for example, someone who wants to write an article exploring the endless possibilities of AI-generated content. By using a prompt as the one mentioned earlier, they can craft an engaging and informative piece that highlights the potential of AI-generated content in various domains, from creative writing and journalism to technical documentation and marketing materials.
Overall, understanding the different components of an AI prompt allows you to harness the power of AI-generated content to create captivating and personalized text. With endless possibilities, AI-generated content can help you explore new ideas, communicate effectively, and generate content tailored to your specific needs.
